A Practice for Peace for Chicago Families

Plan now to attend the first annual Chicago Kids and Family Yoga Fest, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., August 17, at the Garfield Park Conservatory, in Chicago.

“We want to help begin a dialogue between parents and children on the importance of building a community that is rooted in non-violence, kindness and compassion,” states Jen Robertson, founder and president of Chicago Kids Yoga, LLC, and host of the #ChicagoKidsYogaFest.

With the help of local Girl Scout troops and partnerships with organizations such as Lil’ Sluggers, festival organizers are creating an environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of possible previous yoga experience.

Attendees will enjoy dozens of activities, including interactive classes and workshops on health and wellness presented by local health and yoga teachers; a family scavenger hunt; two music stages with live performances by The Householders, Devi2000 and The Bliss Tribe; a family-friendly fire jam by Pyrotechniq; Chic-a-go-go dance party; an art studio; and more.

Free snacks will be provided for guests, compliments of The Kids’ Table and Chicago Kids Yoga, LLC. VitaCoco is the official beverage of the #ChicagoKidsYogaFest and will be served to quench the thirst of visitors throughout the day.

Admission is free. For more information, location specifics and  to get involved, visit ChicagoKidsYoga.com.
