Southside Forest Preserve Restoration Workdays Seek Volunteers

The Southside Centennial Volunteers, in association with Cook County Forest Preserves of Illinois, meet at 10 a.m. on the first and fourth Saturday of every month in Whistler & Kickapoo Woods and the Cook County Forest Preserve, located near the Little Calumet River. Attendees learn the proper ways to cut down a tree, plant and collect seeds from the forest and engage in tours through the forest with a field organizer.
