Veggie Fest Coming to Naperville

Vegetarians, vegans and family-fun seekers will enjoy Veggie Fest, an outdoor festival to be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., August 13 and 14, on the grounds of the Science of Spirituality Meditation Center, in Naperville. Free admission, free parking and a wide assortment of vegetarian fun for the whole family are expected to attract 25,000 visitors in the festival’s sixth year.

Attendees can expect delicious vegetarian food, food demos with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and raw food dishes and leading-edge information from doctors and specialists in vegetarianism, spirituality, organic food and eco-friendly living. On both days, His Holiness Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, an internationally renowned spiritual master and bestselling author, will deliver keynote talks on vegetarianism and spirituality.

In addition to more than 100 exhibitor booths, there will be kid-friendly activities that include face painting and arts and crafts. The first 2,000 people to register for the Vegetarian Challenge, a new initiative to take participants through seven days of vegetarianism, will receive a free goodie bag, as well as recipes and tips to make it fun and easy to be vegetarian for a week.
