Enjoy A Weekend of Food and Fun at Veggie Fest

The seventh annual Veggie Fest Chicago will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., August 11 and 12, on the grounds of the Science of Spirituality Meditation Center, in Naperville, Illinois. Last year, more than 20,000 enthusiasts turned out for one of the largest vegetarian food festivals in North America. Admission is free.

People that want a cleaner, more healthful diet can sign up for The Vegetarian Challenge and become a vegetarian for a week. Register at the event and receive a VF coupon book with thousands of dollars worth of discount coupons from vendors.

Vegetarian lunch, supper and snacks will be served at the international food court, with cooking demos by leading chefs from around the world. The event will include live music by local groups, a children’s activity tent and more than 100 vendor booths featuring products, services and samples. A variety of speakers will present information ranging from converting to a vegetarian diet to meditation, lifestyle, health and wellness and spiritually related topics.

The keynote speaker is internationally renowned spiritual master, His Holiness Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, who will speak at 2:30 p.m., August 11, on Meditation as Medication for the Soul, and release his new book of the same title. At 2:30 p.m., August 12, his topic will be Spiritual and Physical Health through Vegetarianism and Meditation.
