An Umbrella of Vital Care for Brain Health

Steve Best, Petronilo Costa, Dan Pavel

The Neuroscience Center (TNC), in Deerfield, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex disorders, bringing together a diverse group of specialists with high-level expertise in brain health in a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facility. PathFinder Brain SPECT Imaging and the Hyperbaric Centers of Chicago (HCC) work together with the TNC team to address treatment-resistant and complex neuropsychiatric disorders of children and adults that have multiple, co-occurring conditions.

Treatment-resistant depression, complex regional pain syndrome, severe traumatic brain injury, chronic stroke, behavioral and developmental disorders and other complex disorders are resolved using multiple approaches. PathFinder provides the highest-quality functional imaging, and in addition, there is EEG and a variety of laboratory tests for pharmacogenomics (how genes affect a person’s response to drugs), inflammatory conditions, environmental toxicity, tick-borne illness and nutritional status. TNC provides customized treatment protocols tailored to the individual patient, including several specialized procedures.

HCC is the largest hyperbaric center in Chicagoland, with two chambers, including a multiperson chamber so the caregiver can be inside with the patient. TNC is a well-known regional, national and international referral resource.
