The American Public Gardens Association has awarded Scott Stewart, Ph.D., executive director of the Millennium Park Foundation, its prestigious Professional Citation, which recognizes members that excel in one or more disciplines generally associated with public horticulture, including botany, horticulture, gardening, conservation, research, education, extension development or administration.

Stewart directs the state-of-the-art collection of art, architecture and landscape design that provides the backdrop for hundreds of free public education and cultural events and programs annually. Chicago’s Millennium Park is among the top 10 most-visited sites in the U.S. and has become an international model for the coexistence of landscape harmony with human life in the heart of a major metropolitan city.
