Creating Sustainable Communities at GreenTown

This year’s sustainability conference, GreenTown: The Future of Community, will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., February 26, in Aurora. Mayor Tom Weisner and Two Brothers co-founder Jim Ebel are among those speaking on progress being made in Illinois’ second-largest city and the Fox River Valley at this zero waste, carbon neutral event designed to connect the dots between the public and private sectors to create a stronger platform for common ground.

Since 2007, elected officials, city managers, public works directors, park district directors, planners, developers, builders, architects, landscape architects, engineers, school leaders, teachers, healthcare professionals, environmental advocates and many others interested in sustainable development have gathered to hear inspiring speakers, learn from been-there case studies and discuss actionable steps to make people, communities and the planet healthier. At GreenTown, people learn, network and act as they learn how they can help create sustainable communities.

Attendance is limited to 150. Individual registration starts at $35. Location: Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway St., Aurora. For more information and to register, visit GreentownConference.com.
