Community gardens are a great way for neighborhood residents to get to know each other while enjoying the outdoors in a safe and healthy environment. A Home Consulting Business Alliance Education Green Drinks Events Oratorium will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., July 10, at the Chicago Center for Green Technology on the topic of Community Gardening in Chicago.

Keynote speaker Edde Jones, of Greencorps Chicago, along with guest panelists, will describe how to begin by finding a space, resources and expertise and develop a plan to get a community garden up and running. Gardening veterans looking for additional materials and those that would like to link more closely with others in their neighborhood that are already gardening, or would just like to learn more, will benefit from the seminar.

Admission is free. Location: 445 N. Sacramento Blvd. For more information and registration (required), call 312-746-9642 or visit Tinyurl.com/CommunityGardening.
