Join in the Heartland Animal Shelter Walk of Love

The Heartland Animal Shelter’s annual Walk of Love is taking place July 12, starting at 9:30 a.m., at Blue Star Memorial Forest Preserve, in Glenview. Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane organization dedicated to finding homeless animals their forever homes while educating the public about spaying and neutering their pets in order to decrease pet overpopulation.

Proceeds from this leisurely 2K stroll with canine companions allow the nonprofit Heartland Animal Shelter to rescue hundreds of homeless dogs and cats and provide medical care, socialization, training and a secure environment while they wait for homes. All donations are tax-deductible, and animal lovers can help raise money for the event by joining Team Heartland Team Furry Love 2014. The walk will be followed by breakfast, prizes, puppy pools, vendors, photos and more fun.

Registration fee is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Location: 701 E. Lake Ave. For more information, visit HeartlandAnimalShelter.net.
