Learn How Kids’ Baseball and Yoga Go Together

The Lil Sluggers and Chicago Kids Yoga Practice Peace & Play kickoff party, sponsored by Sittercity, will take place from 3 to 5 p.m., June 28, at the Menomonee Club’s Drucker Center, in Chicago.

Kids and families will start their adventure with Lil Sluggers in the Brad Davis Gym, building fundamental skills for any sport or team through dynamic live demos, drills, teamwork and cooperation. In the Abrams Gym, a yogi obstacle course is designed to introduce kids and families to the many aspects of yoga and meditation through a special sequence of games, songs, high-energy movement, stories and more.

The Practice Peace & Play journey ends in the creative expressions art area, where kids and families can spend time together creating something special to take home with them as a memento of the event.

In the Program Room, Sittercity will be discussing their online care solution that connects families nationwide with babysitters and nannies. The Kids’ Table will help kids and families build healthy snacks to enjoy throughout the day. In addition, free samples of KIND bars and VitaCoco, the official beverage of the #ChicagoKidsYogaFest, will be available for all.

Guests are encouraged to bring their gently used baseball and yoga equipment to donate to local nonprofit partners.

“We’re extremely excited to be partnering with Sittercity and Lil Sluggers to organize this incredible kickoff party for the first annual Chicago Kids and Family Yoga Fest, taking place on August 17 at the Garfield Park Conservatory,” says Jen Robertson, founder and president of Chicago Kids Yoga, LLC, and event director of the #ChicagoKidsYogaFest.
