The SCARCE Focus on Energy Film Festival and red carpet awards ceremony, featuring student-produced short videos in languages other than English about the smart grid and energy efficiency, was held April 23. The organizers wish to thank the Illinois Science and Innovation Foundation (ISEIF) for funding, master of ceremonies Mike Nowak, Launch Digital Marketing, Ryan Shreve, RevoWired, videographer Molly Gardner, Studio Movie Grill and Soorya Dance School for their contributions.

       Top awards were presented for: Best Video, South Elgin High School for Smart Meters Make You Smarter (Polish) and College of DuPage for Power (Urdu); People’s Choice, South Elgin High School for Smart Meters Make You Smarter and Benedictine University for Los Lideres de Manaña (Spanish); and Director’s Favorite, Glenbard East High School, Amor Y Enchiladas (Spanish).
