New Whole Foods Opening in Kildeer

A new, 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market will open March 6, at 20281 North Rand Road, providing Kildeer and the surrounding community with great-tasting, high-quality, natural and organic foods in a convenient and fresh contemporary setting. The Palatine store is closing simultaneously. Kildeer Mayor Nandia Black will join the festivities, including a tree planting and burial of a Palatine time capsule, as well as a pancake breakfast and entertainment for all to enjoy when the store opens its doors for the first time at 9 a.m.

“Our ties to the Palatine community are something we are extremely proud to bring along with us to the new Kildeer store,” states Store Team Leader Floyd Staine, who has been with the store since its origin as a Fresh Fields in 1993. For the Palatine store’s final community contribution, a surplus of food staples will be donated to Community Keepers, an organization that helps distribute to area food pantries.

Whole Foods Market is inviting customers to help choose a beneficiary for the Kildeer store’s first Community Support Day. Community members can nominate organizations by visiting the store’s Facebook page and later voting in the store during opening week.
