Enjoy the Lake While Benefiting the Great Lakes

The Alliance for the Great Lakes will hold its annual fundraiser, Taste of the Great Lakes, from 6 to 9 p.m., June 19, at Chicago’s Monroe Harbor, aboard the Columbia Yacht Club’s clubhouse and ship, Abegweit. The Chicago skyline provides a memorable backdrop to the fun of celebrating more than four decades of protecting and restoring the Great Lakes.

The event features live blues music by Mississippi Heat, silent and live auctions and delicious food and beverages, including unique pairings in tribute to our region’s culinary richness.

The Alliance for the Great Lakes works to conserve and restore the world’s largest freshwater resource through policy, education and local efforts aimed at preserving the Great Lakes region as a national treasure. It also works with area residents, enhancing their understanding of how they can help.

Cost: $150/nonmembers; $75/junior philanthropists. Location: 111 N. Lake Shore Dr. at Randolph St., Chicago. Preregistration required online by June 16 at GreatLakes.org/Taste2014.
