Highwood Hosts Traditional Festival Series

The eighth annual Celebrate Highwood series of family-friendly festivals and events includes weekly Wednesday Evening Gourmet Markets, Inferno Fest, North Shore Taco Fest & Highwood Days, Bloody Mary Fest and Garlic Fest at Everts Park to raise funds for local nonprofit organizations.

        One of the best outdoor markets on the North Shore, Highwood Evening Gourmet Markets take place Wednesdays from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., June 14 to August 30, with live music and food trucks.

        Inferno Fest will be held from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., June 28, with lots of hot and spicy foods to try, and even partake in the spiciest inferno food competition.

        The second annual North Shore Taco Fest & Highwood Days is scheduled for 4 to 10 p.m., July 20, 4 to 11 p.m., July 21, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., July 22 and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., July 23. There are carnival rides, live music and tons of food from local vendors.

        Bloody Mary Fest will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 30, with dozens of vendors competing for the titles of Best Bloody Mary and People’s Choice.

        Garlic Fest can be found from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., August 16. This fun, food-filled event showcases the popular Taste of Garlic and the Garlic Queen and Princess competitions.
