What is your holistic perception of abundance?

A holistic perception of abundance is based on harmony in all areas of life. Balance as we know it is a myth. Harmony is a must. Holistically, while you can choose to have it all, you have to start by defining what abundance is. What does it look like? Decide what kind of relationships will bring you joy. Are you surrounded by “Rocket Booster” friends; friends who celebrate you, love you and encourage you?

It’s also about being joyful in whatever you’re doing and having time to be creative in whatever your role. It’s being clear on who you are spiritually and financially, as well as knowing what is it that gives you a sense of fulfillment. Having abundance requires you to have a life built on a solid foundation, versus quicksand. This starts with examining all areas of your life.

Why is celebrating micro wins important to achieving goals?

Celebrations are a way of saying, “I’m proud of myself for this accomplishment.” What gets celebrated gets repeated. Energy grows where energy goes. Micro wins are a result of micro steps. Thinking about climbing a mountain can be overwhelming until you break it down into bite-sized chunks and begin with one mile at a time. Before you realize it, you’ve reached 4,000 feet above sea level and the top is no longer out of reach.

By celebrating small wins, you create the energy to inspire you to produce even more results. Plus, when you celebrate your wins, you send out positive, emotionally charged energy to the universe, which will reward you with other accomplishments that can also be celebrated.

What does it mean to fail forward?

Failing forward is identifying the three things that you did well in any scenario and the two areas that you can improve upon the next time you take on the challenge. In implementing the two areas of improvement each time you fail, you will keep getting better and better. In my company, we say, “The bigger the breakdown, the bigger the breakthrough.”

What part does self-worth play in this time of #MeToo?

Self-worth is the act of knowing your value and the mindset of knowing your value. The role that self-worth has in this time of #MeToo is connected to discovering that we are worthy of speaking your truth out loud without being judged. It’s about finding our voice and using it.

It’s about recognizing that we all have the right to have healthy boundaries, and that when they are crossed, we have the right to speak up—ideally that we speak up in the present tense, recognizing that in some cases you don’t find your voice until later.

Why are so many books written today about finding purpose?

It’s my strong belief that it is a basic human nature to want to bring value to those that we are around. When you are living in your purpose, your presence brings joy and value to those that share your space. Our basic need is for human connection and our basic desire is to be loved and appreciated. Each of those things are elevated and exalted to a whole new level when we are living, standing and operating in our purpose.

Why should we stop asking permission and start giving notice?

It’s important to understand that we ask permission in many different ways. The most obvious is the direct request for permission. Frequently, we have a dream, idea or desire that we discuss with person after person, checking on their temperature about our dream. When they aren’t thrilled about it, we tend to lose a little bit of our joy and excitement.

So often, we share our dreams with people who are vision snatchers and dream busters. What we are really doing is asking for permission to have that dream. I like to share some good advice that I once heard from a well-known comedian: “Don’t share your million-dollar dreams with a hundred-dollar thinker.”
