Free Blood Testing at Wholesome Health Pharmacy

For those with Type 2 diabetes, liver support through targeted detoxification and dietary changes is crucial in managing blood sugar. Wholesome Health Pharmacy will be conducting free blood sugar testing from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., November 16. There will also be information provided with helpful tips to detoxify the liver and help balance blood sugar levels.

Amit Dhingra, Pharm.D., says, “Detoxification supplements can provide the necessary vitamins and nutrients that the liver needs in order to process and remove toxins from the body. Specific herbs, such as milk thistle, artichoke and green tea, protect the liver from toxin damage via antioxidant support and help to rebuild damaged liver cells.”

He also notes, “Dietary changes are also important in order to maintain healthy blood sugar and protect the liver. Blackberries and raspberries are great for providing antioxidants for restoring damaged tissue in the pancreas and liver. Lower fat intake and a whole food, plant-based diet reduces the stress on the pancreas and liver and may improve insulin resistance. Also, be mindful of any food sensitivities that may be contributing to poor blood sugar control.”

Location: 2069 Barrington Rd., Hoffman Estates. For more information, call 224-653-9878 or visit WholesomeRX.com.
