Get Back to the Basics of Healthy Eating at Food Day




The A.R.E. third annual Food Day event will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m., October 26, at the Edgar Cayce Holistic Center, in Des Plaines. Highlights include a discussion session packed with ideas about conscious eating, presented by Natural Awakenings publisher Peggy Malecki.

Carolyn Shipley will share hands-on knowledge of fresh food preparation, complete with samples and recipes, and the story behind the new food company, Spark of the Heart, with founder Cynthia Zeki.

Ron Hounsell will review contributions of Michael Pollan, Edgar Cayce and others to the contemporary food picture, followed by a closing Q&A session. Attendees are encouraged to prepare their favorite healthful recipe and bring enough to share.
