Solay Wellness Offers Yoga Classes in Skokie

The Himalayan Yoga Masters sought pure mountain air for their pranayama, but we live in Chicago. Fortunately, Solay Wellness provides the opportunity to practice yoga in a holistic space that is surrounded with the healing energy of pure, mineral-rich Himalayan crystal salt.

Yoga for Real Bodies, with Phyllis H. Coleman, LMT, RPCYI, is held from 6:30 to 7 p.m., Mondays. Cost is $15. Coleman says, “It is my sincere belief that the somatic body knows how to heal itself, given the opportunity and cues. I strive to teach my students and clients about this process through their own personal experiences, breath work, guided imagery and feedback.”

Himalayan Yoga, with Joan Anundson-Ahr, 200-RYT, is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays and from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturdays. Cost is $12. She states, “Yoga introduces us to ourselves, the authentic self. The practice of asana reminds us of the joy and freedom of movement. The practices of guided relaxation and meditation peel away the layers of distractions until we experience the joy of stillness and the wisdom of silence within.”
