New Fall Family Event from Green Parent’s Network

The Green Parent’s Network will present a brand-new event, the Metropolis Fair—Fall Harvest, at Lake View High School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., September 14. Highlights of the family-friendly, local fair include fall-specific activities, as well as yoga, wellness and sustainability tips, spirituality and tons of other fun activities. WCPT radio’s Mike Nowak (MikeNowak.net) will be broadcasting live from 9 to 11 a.m.

There will be book signings throughout the day featuring local authors, and children will enjoy petting rabbits, goats and other furry creatures from Nature’s Creatures Animal Show (NaturesCreatures.net), an insect petting zoo, plus face painting, a puppet show, arts and crafts and more.

Organic gardening is a big focus of this all-day event, and a wide array of gardening topics are among the featured workshops. Also, master gardeners and master composters from the University of Illinois Extension Service will be on hand to answer the toughest gardening questions.

Admission is free. Location: 4015 N. Ashland Ave., Chicago. For more information, call Shannon Bunting at 773-942-1100 or visit GreenMetropolisFair.com.
