Walk/Run to Support Area Prostate Cancer Organizations

Kevin Coster of Oak Forest

The 10th annual SEA Blue Prostate Cancer Chicago Walk & Run, presented by Us TOO International, Wellness Place and UroPartners, will take place at Lincoln Park, in Chicago, September 14 to help fund the prostate cancer education and support services provided at no charge from nonprofits Us TOO and Wellness Place.

Prostate cancer is the second-largest cancer killer of men, after lung cancer. It claims the lives of approximately 30,000 men annually and another 230,000 are diagnosed. The event typically attracts around 1,500 participants that run the 5K race, walk with the group through Lincoln Park carrying team flags or relax in the tent village to enjoy the camaraderie.

Activities include educational sessions with physician presentations, free PSA testing, free lunch, drinks and snacks, a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers, a DJ and music, plus a bounce house, face painting and temporary tattoos for the kids.

Registration is $45 for adults, $20 for kids 7 to 17, and free to children 6 and under and includes a T-shirt. To register or donate, visit SeaBlueProstateWalk.org.
