Evanston Streets Alive Highlights Green Living and Hispanic Heritage

Streets Alive, an Evanston community event with a theme of Just Move—Walk, Run and Bike to a More Sustainable Life! will take place from 1 to 6 p.m., September 13.

Presented by Citizens’ Greener Evanston (CGE), the Evanston Environmental Association (EEA), and the city of Evanston, the event will clear a mile of Main Street of cars and fill it with fun activities. The Evanston Green Living Festival will be part of Streets Alive this year for the first time. Latino Resources will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Streets Alive with food, music and games.

The event’s goal is to help everyone visualize new ways to use public space and to inspire healthy, green transportation.
