Whole Body Thermometry : Provides Comprehensive Health Assessment

Aug 25, 2016 ● By Maddy O'connell

Whole body thermometry (WBT) is a safe, accurate, hassle-free way to scan the body for functional imbalances. WBT is a gentle modality that assesses the stressors at the core of many health challenges, and enables the overseeing practitioner to address these issues with more specificity. Founded on 30 years of research by European integrative doctors, WBT is the next generation of integrative scanning technology.

MRI, mammograms, thermography, CT/CAT and PET scans all record detailed images of anatomical structures at one moment in time. Whole body thermometry, though, is a functional test that measures how organs and related systems adapt to stress. Chronic illness develops over time, and WBT can discover and prioritize disturbances that are critical to address right away in order to help prevent disease from occurring and restore the body to optimal functioning.

How to prepare

The test is simple and straightforward. To prepare for an in-office scan, patients should not shower, exercise, drink hot, cold or caffeinated beverages, smoke, brush their teeth or apply deodorant or body lotion on the day of their appointment. Clients are asked to wear a loose-fitting, button-down shirt (ideally, women should not wear a bra to their appointment, if desired, they can bring one to put on after the scan is completed). Room temperature food and fluids are allowed prior to the test and it is suggested and necessary to come well hydrated (avoid alcohol for 24 hours before the scan). In addition, refrain from any bodywork such as acupuncture, massage, chiropractic or reiki performed for 36 hours prior to the scan, and have no dental work or dental cleanings done for three days prior to the test.

What to expect

Using a wireless wand with an infrared heat sensor at one end, a technician measures the temperature of 120 specific points on the skin. The client disrobes to their boxers, briefs or panties and then stands quietly for 10 minutes to allow skin to come to room temperature. Then the technician measures the 120 points again after exposure to room temperature air on bare skin. The data is then sent to the WBT computer server, which analyzes the temperature readings taken of the skin, and prepares a detailed report of the results in just minutes.

Thermometry demonstrates how well the nervous system is able to influence the skin temperature at each point, revealing information about the health of the underlying organs.
