New Book Sheds Light on Panic Attacks

Sandra Scheinbaum, Ph.D.

For individuals looking for relief from panic attacks and professionals eager to help their clients overcome anxiety, local author Sandra Scheinbaum, Ph.D., founder of Highland Park’s Feed Your Mind Wellness, has released a book, How to Give Clients the Skills to Stop Panic Attacks: Don’t Forget to Breathe.

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety disorders affect 18 percent of the population. Although anxiety disorders are highly preventable and treatable, only a small percentage of those suffering from chronic anxiety seek out treatment.

The book shows how it is possible to prevent and abort a panic attack using functional medicine. Scheinbaum educates readers about how to identify and understand panic, and offers practical tools, exercises and motivational scripts that enable individuals to control the anxiety that causes it. Through breathing techniques, positive imagery, rational thinking, dietary changes and yoga, she offers readers a roadmap to relief from panic attacks.

Dr. Scheinbaum is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 30 years’ experience. How to Give Clients the Skills to Stop Panic Attacks: Don’t Forget to Breathe is available online at Amazon.com.
