Ayurvedic Recipe Tasting and Cookbook Signing in Evanston

The Book Cellar and Now We’re Cookin’, in Evanston, will host author and chef Amrita Sondhi for a cooking demonstration, book signing and tasting of some special dishes from her newest cookbook, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., November 8.

Sondhi is a certified yoga instructor and author of The Modern Ayurvedic Cookbook. She provides new twists on traditional ayurvedic recipes that are inspired by the growing popularity of whole grains (quinoa, spelt and barley) and raw foods. Sondhi is also the founder of Movement Global Design (MovementGlobal.com) providing cutting-edge yoga lifestyle clothing in sustainable fibers.The Tastes of Ayurveda

Ayurveda, a 5,000-year-old healing tradition from India which is linked to the development of yoga, is based on the concept that one’s physical, mental and spiritual well-being comes from a number of sources, including a healthful diet based on individual constitution.
