Earth Day and Arbor Day will be celebrated from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 26, in Northbrook. More than 50 vendors will feature Earth-friendly ideas and concepts for home and business on the Village Green. Exciting new ideas and cost-effective, sustainable ways to conserve energy, save money and help the environment will be on display.

Clean-up teams meet at 8:30 a.m., and each will be assigned specific areas to collect debris and windblown trash. Between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., visitors will enjoy exhibits, information about local farmers, home weatherization tips, demonstrations, giveaways, free tree seedlings, pony rides, games and entertainment.

Residents are encouraged to participate in a special recycling collection and document shredding event at the west side commuter parking lot by the METRA station near the corner of Walters and Shermer roads, in downtown Northbrook.
