Regional Conference to Teach Women Herbal Expertise

The Midwest Women’s Herbal Conference is hosting its third annual conference on the weekend of June 6 to 8 at The Beber Camp, in Mukwongago, Wisconsin, offering 50 workshops and plant walks. The weekend is appropriate for experienced herbalists and newbies alike.

Topics include wild edibles, herbal medicine making, digestive health, menopause, crafting herbal lotions, natural pet and livestock care, natural mothering and more. In addition to the main conference, five longer preconference workshops will be held.

Featured guests include Dr. Tieraona Low Dog (Herbs for Stress, Immune and Mental Health), Lisa Ganora (Demystifying the Herbal Pharmacy) and Brooke Medicine Eagle (Holding the Ceremonial Bowl). These women bring expertise in the fields of herbalism, as well as women’s health and personal growth.

Additional workshops include Reading the Healing Plants, with Elizabeth Heck, and Wild Edible Mushrooms, with Sarah Foltz Jordan. Early morning activities include movement and plant journaling classes. Evening entertainment includes music, storytelling, film screenings and fire circles by the lake. Participants can attend for a day or the entire weekend.
