Outdoor Festivals Turn Up the Family Fun This Summer

Summertime in Chicago means it’s time to have some fun outdoors and festivals rank high on many lists. Whether it’s listening to a band at Ravinia or Millennium Park, picnicking at a nearby forest preserve or attending a festival, the goal is to maximize our time outdoors over these warm months.

If outdoor festivals are your thing, the Highwood Chamber of Commerce presents its popular Highwood Festival Days, held June 27-29 at Everts Park in Downtown Highwood. The three-day family-friendly extravaganza will include plenty of new and exciting carnival rides and games for all ages, gourmet food, drinks, live music, and more! For the second year, Highwood’s oldest festival will include the Taste of Summer, bringing together the great tastes of the North Shore.

Chicago rocks when it comes to outdoor festivals but Square Roots, the one-of-a-kind craft beer and music experience, is great because it appeals to both adults with and without kids as well as the kids themselves.

Square Roots returns to Lincoln Square July 11-13 with more than 50 acts on four stages and 30 regional craft brews paired with Lincoln Square’s finest restaurants and artisans.

A full line-up of performers can be found here, a full beer list can be found here and here is where you can find a list of restaurants and their menu offerings.
