Mike Nowak is Now on Que4 Radio

Mike Nowak

Chicago’s only long-form gardening and environment radio program, The Mike Nowak Show,  has moved to a new home on Que4 Radio 1680 AM from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Que4 is a low-power broadcast station with an Internet profile, so the best way to hear him is online at Que4.org.

“People ask me, ‘Is it a gardening program or an environmental show?’ And my answer is, ‘Yes,’” quips Nowak. “Yet, it’s ‘big picture’ gardening and ‘small picture’ environmentalism, meaning that I try to teach gardeners how their plot of earth is connected to the rest of the world, and I try to encourage folks to practice recycling and energy efficiency and more, which are the small things that add up to big changes on our planet.”

For 18 years at WGN, WCPT and now Que4, Nowak has covered the horticultural and environmental gamut from gardening tips, urban farming, plant and animal biodiversity to cleaning up our rivers, protecting our natural areas, recycling, alternative energy and more. Que4 is a civic and community nonprofit media organization created to reflect, support, uplift and empower the diversity of Chicago.
