Marlena Jayitalake

Love That Spice, in Highland Park, has opened a new gourmet tea bar, serving the finest freshly brewed, handcrafted tea blends and curated black, green, white, maté and roiboos teas. To celebrate, Love That Spice is hosting a Grand Opening event from noon to 4 p.m, June 4. Guests can try free samples of tea blends, enjoy baked goodies from local bakeries, find Father’s Day gifts with in-store specials and enjoy 15 percent off all tinned teas. Their newest tea blend is a non-caffeinated coffee substitute that blends dandelion, chicory and organic spices, available exclusively by the cup at the tea bar.

“In our store, we hand-prepare and combine spices and herbs known in various cultures to promote health to create tea blends beneficial to total body wellness and comfort,” says founder  Marlena Jayitalake. “Our wellness blends are based mostly on medicinal Chinese and ayurvedic traditions, and our gourmet blends are based on what tickles the taste buds, using freshly sourced, organic and kosher ingredients.” Love That Spice opened in 2012, and specialized in teas, spices and specialty blends created in-store.
