Healthy Digestion Through The Holidays

Reneé Barasch

The Tummy Whisperer meets The Purple Sprout Cafe and Juice Bar. Come join in at the Purple Sprout Café at 3 p.m., December 10, to hear Certified Digestive Health Specialist, Reneé Barasch (The Tummy Whisperer), talk about how to eat well and feel good throughout the holidays and after.

Barasch says attendees can learn how to avoid cravings, overeating and sugar crashes while you feed and nourish your body. Learn how to notice when you are hungry for specific foods (fats, sugar, salty), and how digestion plays a major role. “You will discover ways to feel satisfied and not deprived during this festive time,” says Barasch, the owner of Nutritional Health Solutions and a digestive health specialist.

Irina Kuvnetsova, owner of The Purple Sprout Cafe and Juice Bar, says, “We will be sampling healthy and delicious spins on traditional dishes, with a wide variety to please anybody’s palate.” The Purple Sprout creates from scratch and serves all-organic, plant-based, free of sugar and preservatives, handmade meals, with gluten-free options. Customers can also order meals for takeout and for the holidays.

Cost is $15. Event location: Purple Sprout Café, 341 E. Dundee Rd,, Wheeling. Reservations are required to attend. To register, call Barasch at 847-207-2034.
