Sip Red, Go Green at Wilmette Wine Cellar

Go Green Wilmette’s second annual event, Sip Red, Go Green, from 4 to 6 p.m., November 5, at the Wilmette Wine Cellar, includes socializing, wine and hors d’oeuvres. They are celebrating another year of progress and the launch of a new Green Grants program for local initiatives, as well as their collaborative effort with the Shedd Aquarium to reduce the use of plastic straws and other single-use plastics for the improved health of our waterways.

The nonprofit has been working since 2006 to raise environmental awareness, inspire people to take action and create a more sustainable community. Go Green Wilmette partners with residents, schools, the park district, the library, the village, local businesses and nearby communities to organize campaigns, projects, educational seminars, film showings, book discussions, gatherings and activities throughout the year for the health and well being of generations to come.

Tickets are $30 ($15 is tax-deductible). Those wishing to donate $35 or more to Go Green Wilmette have the option of purchasing a ticket for $50 or making an additional donation. Location: 1100 Central Ave., Wilmette. For more information, visit GoGreenWilmette.org.
