The Organic Food Club offers a wide selection of organic vegetables, microgreens and sprouts. Everything is grown either in Highland Park by Ed Kugler in the Organic Teaching Garden, or in Lake Zurich by Robert Boyce, at Natural Environments, USDA Certified Organic gardens and greenhouses.

Members only purchase what they can afford or need at a minimum 10 percent less than at a farmers’ market. Growing space for a personal choice of seeds or seedlings is included on a schedule coordinated to achieve the customer’s goal of enjoying the freshest local produce.

On Mondays, a weekly outlook of available veggies is available. On Tuesdays, or by special arrangement, there’s an Open House available for members to learn and/or volunteer. On Wednesdays, they are at the Ravinia Farmers’ Market from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday is the proposed harvesting and pickup day—or delivery for an additional fee. On Saturdays, they are at the Deerfield Farmers’ Market from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Home installation and maintenance of an organically grown garden or entire landscape can be created and maintained by Boyce.

Annual membership cost: $50. For more information, visit OrganicTeachGardenHP.org and RobertCBoyce.com.
