Safe Haven Charity Run Fights Homelessness

A Safe Haven Foundation will conduct the ninth annual, 5K Run, To End Homelessness beginning at 8:30 a.m., July 13, at Montrose Harbor Grove 16. The day includes a competitive or casual opportunity to participate in Chicago’s largest 5K Run and Walk along the dazzling Chicago lakefront, and a Fun Run for kids 12 and under (free with pre-registration).

After 25 years of serving Chicago, A Safe Haven Foundation has helped more than 100,000 people break the cycle of homelessness and addiction. All proceeds from the event will exclusively go to help homeless individuals—youths, single mothers, families and veterans—transform their lives and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.

The nonprofit A Safe Haven Foundation helps people aspire, transform and sustain their lives as they transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency with pride and purpose. It provides the tools for each individual to overcome the root causes of homelessness through a holistic, scalable mode, unite families, stabilize neighborhoods and create vibrant, viable communities.

Cost: $40 with free swag bag/$50 on race day. Location: 600 W. Montrose Harbor Dr., Chicago. Register at RunToEndHomelessness.org. For more information, visit ASafeHaven.org.
