Eat Local and Support Urban and Suburban Food Production

The Resiliency Institute, a nonprofit based in Naperville, empowers people to live resilient lifestyles, grow resilient landscapes and build resilient communities. They offer numerous ways to engage in and support our local food system, including Permaculture Plants classes, a community-scale local food gardens Growing DuPage project kickoff, a permaculture plant sale to help incorporate more perennial foods into our own yards and wider local food system, and more this summer and fall.

From front and backyard gardening and edible landscaping classes, consultations and designs to local foraging walks and classes, public permaculture fruit tree guilds and forest gardens, they have a wide range of offerings of varying scales.
