The Resiliency Institute Fall Farm Yoga

The nonprofit Resiliency Institute is introducing a family-friendly outdoor yoga session from 9 to 10 a.m., September 22, in Naperville, taught by Dr. Allison Mitch to welcome the fall season. Located in the Whole Foods Market Edible Forest Garden at McDonald Farm in Naperville, participants will move through vinyasa, pranayama and meditation, and craft an herbal tea from the garden.

Mitch is a physical therapist and healing arts practitioner of yoga and reiki, ecologist and part-time professor. She says, “Nature connection and a mindfulness practice for regeneration and resilience are a perfect way to start the day and enjoy the abundance of fall.” Beginners are welcome. All should bring a yoga mat and beach towel or cushion. In the case of inclement weather, the class will be held indoors.

The Resiliency Institute uses permaculture education and design to foster nature and human connection, grow food security and build resilient communities. Yoga is the perfect permaculture tool; it fosters personal resilience, well-being and social connection. Outdoor yoga has the added benefit of stimulating nature connection.

Cost: $10. Preregistration is required by Sept. 20 at TheResiliencyInstitute.net/event/fall-farm-yoga. Location: 10S404 Knoch Knolls Rd., Naperville. For more information, call Jodi Trendler at 630-477-9910.
