The Adoption Process from A to Z: A Virtual Presentation with Sally Wildman

Attorney-at-Law Sally Wildman, a Chicago and Northbrook attorney with many years of experience in adoption law practice, will present the fundamentals and legal steps of this process with a focus on preparing to adopt from 3 to 4:30 p.m., October 20, via Zoom. Wildman represents adoptive families in all types of adoptions and presents workshops on adoption basics.

Presented through New Trier Extension Community Education, she will distinguish the several types of adoption available and will guide viewers through key steps of home study, foster parent licensing and immigration steps that are required.

The adoption process may include many expenses that vary by the broad range of options. Wildman will discuss methods to help finance the cost of this process, such as tax credits, organization grants and employer benefits.

Wildman shares resources for choosing adoption agencies, attorneys, adoption organizations and related professionals to identify the best options. The discussion will conclude by considering the common needs of adopted children and openness in today’s adoptions.
