Globalfest to be Held at Humboldt Park This Year
The 14th annual Chicago Fair Trade Globalfest fundraiser will be a socially distanced drive-in event held from 5 to 8 p.m., October 11, at the Humboldt Park boathouse. Guests with cars will be parked in the boathouse parking lot, while guests on foot will gather on the spacious boathouse patio at a safe distance from one another. This celebration will offer festive food, drinks, music, performance art and a popular silent auction. All tickets include an open bar with local wine, beer, cocktails and kombucha, plus delicious food, live music and entertainment.
All proceeds support Chicago Fair Trade and will help to empower tens of thousands of low-income and marginalized workers, artisans and farmers from around the world to achieve a fulfilling and sustainable livelihood. Organizers say, “In these times of economic hardship due to the challenges of COVID-19, this work is more critical than ever to ensure the well-being of our planet and all of its inhabitants.”
