The Chicago Conscious Closet Club will be celebrating National Thrift Shop Day with a panel discussion from 7 to 8 p.m., August 17, featuring some of their favorite local thrifters. Discussion topics include thrifting best practices, tips, tricks and why thrifting is an excellent choice when building a conscious closet. The panel will be hosted virtually via Zoom.

Panelists include Kaitlin Stewart, stylist and curator of Instagram blog Windy City Thrifter; Kristen P Ahern, costume designer and founder of Conscious Costume; and Hanna Donnelly, the sustainable fashion stylist behind Hanna Lee Style. The discussion will be moderated by Kat Anderson, thrift shop hunter and member services coordinator at the Apparel Industry Board, Inc.

Donations support the panelists and the work of Chicago Fair Trade, the largest fair trade coalition in the U.S., working to increase support for economic and environmental justice through consumer education, advocacy and promotion of local fair trade businesses.
