Get in on Wild Onion Market’s First Anniversary Celebration
Wild Onion Market, the community-owned food co-op in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, invites the Chicagoland community to celebrate its first anniversary from 2 to 5 p.m. on June 22. The market is asking residents across Evanston, Rogers Park, Edgewater, West Ridge, Andersonville and Uptown to help spread the word about the event.
Guests can expect live music, local vendors, kids’ activities, food samples and more during the free celebration. Whether co-op owners or newcomers, all are welcome to join the festivities and learn more about the market’s mission.
Since opening a year ago, Wild Onion Market has focused on providing fresh, local, sustainably sourced food while empowering the community through cooperative ownership. Nearly 2,500 members now share ownership, but the market welcomes all shoppers. Supporting local farms and producers such as Chicago Patchwork Farms, The Talking Farm and Finn’s Ranch, Wild Onion keeps money circulating within the region and fosters a resilient local economy and a strong sense of community.
