For nearly 18 years, Nature’s Feed in suburban Spring Grove has served area pet owners as a trusted, independent resource, and an alternative to big-box and online retailers. A “Best of the Fox” award winner for the past 15 years, their focus is on animal nutrition, knowledgeable guidance and personal relationships. Founder and owner Dorothy Vetrovec says customers often seek help with nutrition, allergies, supplements, raw feeding and picky eaters.
“We love getting to know people and their pets,” Vetrovec says. “It is an honor to be the trusted resource for so many pet parents in the northern suburbs and southern Wisconsin.”
Community events are central to her commitment to the local pet community, with numerous events happening monthly. Trick or Treat for the Dogs will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 24, benefiting Young at Heart Senior Pet Rescue, followed by a pet adoption event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. November 7. The store will mark its anniversary with two days of deals, raffles and goody bags November 20 and 21, followed by Small Business Saturday deals and raffles November 28.
Nature’s Feed supports local rescues, shelters, nonprofits and other small businesses, and hosts educational programs, adoption events, fundraisers and pet celebrations throughout the year. “Your dollars make a difference,” Vetrovec says, adding that about 67 cents of every dollar spent at the store remains in the community, helping support local jobs and organizations.
