Don’t Miss the Green Metropolis Fair

The Green Parents Network presents the fifth annual Green Metropolis Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 27, at Chicago’s historic and newly renovated Irish American Heritage Center, with more than 100 sustainable, free trade and organic exhibitors and an array of activities for both adults and children.

Organic gardening is a special focus of the Green Metropolis Fair, and workshops and activities on a wide array of gardening topics will be featured. Master gardeners and master composters from the University of Illinois Extension Service will be on hand to answer questions, and vegetable plants, herb plants and flowers will be available for purchase.

The family-friendly activities include entertainment and conference topics covering all aspects of green living. Many local businesses will take part in the retail marketplace and food and drink will be available throughout the day. Local services such as community-supported agriculture, nutritionists, chiropractors and other sustainable businesses will be featured. There will also be yoga, wellness activities and ways to make homes healthier and more energy efficient.

Admission is free. Location: 4626 N. Knox. For more information, email Mary Beth Rebedeau at [email protected] or visit GreenMetropolisFair.com.
