Trade in Shoes, Save Money and Help Good Causes

April is Trade-in Month at New Balance North Shore, so it’s the perfect time to gather up worn-out or just unworn shoes that are filling up the closet. The annual April Trade-in Sale has become a tradition that many people look forward to, according to Allen Adelman, owner of the New Balance store in Highland Park. “When customers bring in old shoes to trade in, we give them a discount on their new shoes, and all of the collected shoes get donated to charity. So they save some money and help a good cause at the same time.”

This year, the old shoes will be donated to three local charities: The Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Community Soup Kitchen of Waukegan. Shoes of any type, any brand and in any condition will be accepted for trade-in. Discounts include $5 off any kid’s shoes, $10 off any adult shoes under $100 and $20 off any adult shoes over $100.

New Balance North Shore carries the widest selection of footwear and apparel offered by the Boston-based New Balance company and an experienced team of technicians provides personal fitting services for no additional charge.
