Fresh Delivery From Farm to Doorstep

Sandhill Family Farms, a partnership of farms and farming families serving more than 600 community supported agriculture (CSA) members in the Chicago area for more than 15 years, is introducing home delivery of vegetables, meat, dairy and eggs to the Chicago, Madison and Milwaukee areas for those that would like to become CSA members, but don’t live close to the farm or neighborhood pickup locations. Deliveries of their popular spring shares begin the week of May 2.

Organic vegetable shares are harvested the week of delivery and deliveries arrive on Thursday of the delivery week. Members receive a reminder email at the beginning of the week and an online farm newsletter that includes pictures, farm stories, cooking and storage tips and recipes, using the products included in their farm shares.

Shares are packed into an insulated box designed to keep food cool and fresh. The type and amount of packaging used adjusts with the seasonal weather, and members are encouraged to refrigerate or freeze the contents as soon as possible to maintain freshness. Members may reuse, recycle or coordinate with the farm to pick up the delivery boxes.
