Fall Adoption Seminars Begin in Highland Park

Chicago and Northbrook Attorney Sally Wildman will present a seminar, The Adoption Process From A to Z, from 7 to 9:15 p.m., September 20, at Highland Park High School, sponsored by Continuing Education District 113.

Explore the world of adopting a child as Wildman introduces the basic steps of this process and highlights key differences in domestic and foreign adoptions. She shares key resources for choosing adoption agencies, community support and related professionals. Discussion focuses on initiating your search for an available child and dealing with "openness" in adoption.

Wildman is a member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and has represented adopting parents in all types of adoptions used in Illinois practice. As chair of the American Bar Association Adoption Committee, she initiated a bar association resolution urging congress to enact various benefits for adoptive families, such as the federal adoption tax credit now available.
