Doherty to Lead Four-Day Permaculture Workshop

Darren Doherty

Australian Darren Doherty, one of the world’s most experienced permaculture design professionals and registered PDC teacher who has designed and developed more than 1,100 properties across four continents, will lead a permaculture theory workshop. This special opportunity will be held on August 16 and 17, with a practicum workshop on August 18 and 19, at the M.A. Center Chicago (MACC), in Elburn, just west of Chicago.

This is an opportunity to practice sustainable living in daily life and do something to protect the planet. The class is designed in such a manner that both novices and experts will benefit from the practical application of permaculture design.

Doherty, a full-time permaculture designer since 1993 (Permaculture.biz) has worked with Bill Mollison and David Holmgren, the originators of permaculture, an ecological design system that integrates people into nature’s design. Permaculture teaches how to design natural homes, create abundant gardens, plant food forests, include backyard animals, build biodiversity to protect wildlife, regenerate degraded landscapes and ecosystems, harvest rainwater, develop ethical economies and communities and more.
