Collective Resource Receives Grant

Evanston-based food-scrap collection company Collective Resource, Inc. (CRI) received a generous grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Office of Energy and Recycling. The competitive F-SCRAP Grants Program, established five years ago to support efforts to advance food scrap collection and processing efforts in Illinois, enabled CRI to purchase a new truck. The rest will be used to further streamline its operation.

CRI offers a biweekly door-to-door food scrap pickup service. They provide a clean, five-gallon bucket, and then swap it out on the way to a commercial compost site.
