Junk King Offers Premium Recycling Services to Chicago Area

Former 25-year Chicago Mercantile Exchange pit trader Armen Kholamian has opened a new Junk King hauling and recycling franchise, and is owner of the north suburban location, with two of his partners from the exchange. Kholamian, a Barrington resident, is on board with the green objectives of the company. “I have always been fascinated with repurposing and bringing new life to old things,” he says. “I believe that the emphasis on recycling that Junk King places in its business model fits right in with that.”

Junk King, begun in 2005, offers same-day service, online booking and a 60 percent recycling/donation policy, and is one of the fasting-growing franchises in the business. They haul away big pieces like sofas, loveseats, stoves and refrigerators and little pieces like out-of-date desktop computers or monitors, as well as serious garbage items like construction waste, lumber, brick, concrete and roofing shingles. Best of all, the complete Junk King removal experience includes having the JK crew do all the work.
