Tour Local Koi Ponds and Gardens

The Midwest Pond & Koi Society (MPKS) will present their annual tour of area gardens and ponds during two weekends in July. This is the 28th year that MPKS members across the Chicago region will open their backyards to visitors that want to learn more about integrating koi ponds into their home landscapes. The dates are July 21, 22, 28 and 29, all from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

       The self-guided Garden and Pond Tour is divided into regions to help minimize the travel time and increase the enjoyment of leisurely visiting the gardens and ponds. MPKS is providing maps indicating the participants in each region, along with a descriptive narrative and directions to each location. Potential tour locations include:

       July 21 Central: Lombard, Addison, Villa Park, River Forest, Oak Park, Riverside, North Riverside, Brookfield, Oak Brook and LaGrange. July 22 Southwest/West: Lisle, Downers Grove, Bolingbrook, Naperville, Elburn and Batavia. July 28 South: Clarendon Hills, Burr Ridge, Countryside, Evergreen Park, Dolton, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Homer Glen, Mokena, Decatur and Schererville, Indiana. July 29 North/Northwest: Chicago, Glenview, Libertyville, Kildeer, Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows, Elgin, Roselle, Carol Stream, Streamwood and Kenosha, Wisconsin.
