Amma Brings Hugs and Blessings to Chicago

Amma

Siri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, known as Amma (mother), will be visiting her Elburn ashram outside Chicago from June 27 through 29. Amma emphasizes that love is her religion, and she believes that actions taken to alleviate suffering are the embodiment of love. In Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe and elsewhere throughout the world, she offers inspiration through her talks, works and personal connections.

The highlight of meeting Amma is receiving her hug, or darshan, as she gazes into people’s eyes and soulfully connects with each of them. Amma’s morning and evening programs include live music, discourses and a personal connection with Amma herself. A free class in Integrative Amrita Meditation, a unique meditation designed by Amma, and an opportunity to explore the peaceful ashram grounds are also options for visitors. Chair massage, radiant healing, Vedic astrology, shopping, organic food, crafts and books are all part of the festive atmosphere.

Admission is free. Arrive 60 to 90 minutes before the program starts for a token to reserve a spot. For program times and more details, visit Chicago.Amma.org. For more information, visit EmbracingTheWorld.org. See ad on page 21.
