Ravinia Farmers Market’s 39th Season Under New Management

Taste Marketing has become the new management company, with Ed Kugler as manager, for the Ravinia Farmers Market. Kugler, a Highland Park resident since 1959, was the first sprout farmer to have a booth when the market began in 1978.

The Ravinia Farmers Market will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays beginning June 7 through October 25. On opening day, June 7, in Jensen Park, the kickoff event will be a fundraiser for the Organic Teaching Garden (OTG). Natural Environments (RobertCBoyce.com), a certified organic farm owned by Robert Boyce in Lake Zurich, has partnered with OTG to create a large tent housing the North Shore’s largest, locally grown, certified organic plant sale at affordable prices.

OTG has been the teaching garden for more than 200 students at Highland Park High School AP Environmental Science classes since 2010. Other longtime vendors and new faces will be selling local and organic vegetables, fruits, cheeses, baked goods, crepes and other products.

Location: Highland Park Ravinia District on Dean Ave. at Roger Williams Ave. Ample parking is available. For more information, call 847-561-1302. Email [email protected] or visit RaviniaFarmersMarket.org.
